Italiandesignerwear.com was founded in 2006 by Paula O'Connell and Jeannette Lowe who met each other four years ago in the most life changing circumstances imaginable. At that time both of their youngest children, born only weeks apart, where in hospital beds at Alder Hey Hospital in Liverpool awaiting open heart surgery. In this, the most stressful time any parent could imagine, a friendship grew that would see Paula and Jeannette support each other through their children's illness. Paula's daughter made a good recovery but Jeannette's had complications and had to have a heart transplant some months later, that is why the Italiandesignerwear.com logo has 3 hearts, one for Amelia, one for Allessia and one for the child who's heart was donated to save Allessia's life.Paula and Jeannette have 7 children between them and so they feel they have the right credentials when it comes to buying kids clothes. They were so fed up with the lack of choice and quality being offered by British retailers that they decided to open their own company supplying imported designer children's wear from Italy direct from the manufacturer. They would not trust anyone to choose the ranges for them so they both went over to Italy and hand picked the clothes and accessories themselves, making sure that each item could be put with others to make complete sets. They also wanted to be able to offer people a chance to shop on their 'doorstep' rather than having to go into the town to buy quality clothes. So their dream came true, they are offering people the choice of quality products at extremely affordable prices.
As Paula says..."Like most mums trying to juggle family life, kids and all that goes with them doesn't leave much time for anything else especially shopping.
